TGICFT chooses Civica’s cloud-based software to reduce costs and help improve patient care
Trust selects Civica’s Managed CostMaster solution to enable end-to-end cost reporting from organisation level through to individual patients
Civica, a market leader in business-critical software applications, digital solutions and managed services, has agreed a new contract with Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (TGICFT) for its cloud-based CostMaster solution.
The software will provide the ICFT with a clearer view of its cost data to better inform the board of the ICFT’s finances and identify where cost savings can be implemented.
TGICFT, which serves a community of 250,000 people across Tameside and Glossop, chose Civica’s Managed CostMaster service to achieve significant cost savings and efficiencies, lower IT risk and improve operational performance to better serve its patients.
The managed solution will help the ICFT make better use of resources relating to cost infrastructure and support. Implementing a management solution allows the IT department to focus on the support required for front line patient services for the ongoing support of the system.
Alongside providing clear, end-to-end cost reporting, the solution allows the ICFT to easily expand its processing power to meet its capacity needs; delivering best value in comparison to an on-premises server. By hosting information in a secure managed cloud environment, the ICFT is also better protected against physical and cyber threats, as well as meeting both business continuity and resilience requirements.
Dawn Murphy, Finance Business Partner at TGICFT, said: “Due to the number of patients we serve daily, having a clear view of our activity and cost variation is vital. We need to be able to source the information required to make robust investment decisions and achieve the most effective use of our resources.
“We evaluated two other providers in conjunction with key stakeholders, but we felt that Civica’s system offered the best user experience for all staff, in the hospital and the community, including those with limited technical abilities. With Managed CostMaster, we can quickly start to remove much of the admin currently facing our internal IT teams, so they have more time to support critical frontline services.”
David Roots, Executive Director, Health and Care at Civica, said: “We’re excited that TGICFT has chosen Civica’s cloud-based CostMaster platform. We are very much looking forward to supporting the ICFT in achieving significant cost savings and efficiencies and understanding the more innovative ways the IT team can now support frontline clinical services. Our solution will continue to support the ICFT’s digital transformation vision and ultimately enhance its integrated patient care.”
With a 30-year track record in the health sector, Civica delivers critical software solutions to over 500 customers across the NHS and private care sector: from electronic prescribing and patient records to enhanced workforce efficiency. The company provides cloud delivery to more than 20,000 clinicians, facilitates the scanning of 150 million documents and images and processes £60bn of NHS funds annually.
