Course Content

This Training & Development course will meet the following objectives:

Set up and maintenance course lists that employees can request or attend, including linking of skills or qualifications to be gained from the course, the suppliers of the course and potentially start, end and durations of the course.

The different methods for Training Needs Analysis.

The use of scheduling employees with training needs to specific courses.

Record attendance/non-attendance of employees on courses.

Tailor the system to suit your criteria for evaluating all training.

How the core application links in with the Self Service application?

  • Training Course Maintenance - An initial discussion about the different ways of using the Training Module followed by a closer look at how to set up courses, course skills and qualifications, how to set up suppliers and tutors and finally how to configure the evaluation area to suit your means of evaluating training courses.
  • Training requirements - Identifying and recording employees’ training requirements including the difference between a training need and a training request. Also how delegates can follow the progress of an employee’s training request from start to completion.
  • Training Event & Scheduler - One of the ways to make the most use of the training module is to use the Training Scheduler to book employees onto specific courses. Here delegates will find out how to use the scheduler including the creation of ‘course runs’.
  • Training records - Using the Training Input screen to record an employee’s actual attendance on a training course.
  • Training evaluation - Having configured the preferred criteria for evaluating training, users can use the Course Evaluation and the Course Review screens to record this evaluation.
  • Training reports - Overview of some of the standard reports that are available within the Training Module.
  • Training in Self Service - An overview of the training element within HR Self Service software.
