Civica helps Gwynedd support residents into housing

11th October 2023

Cyngor Gwynedd works with Civica to help improve housing services

  • New Civica Abritas cloud software will enable the housing team to match residents with suitable properties easily and quickly
  • Increased automation and improved reporting will help better manage growing number of residents in temporary accommodation
  • New customer portal will allow self-service and tracking applications online, 24/7

Social housing customers across Gwynedd are set to benefit from improved housing services thanks to a new partnership with global GovTech leader Civica.

Cyngor Gwynedd, which currently manages housing for over 2,000 registered residents, will implement Civica’s Abritas Housing Needs solution in a new three-year contract.

The Council manages the housing register and works with several housing associations to ensure tenants are housed in the best properties to suit their needs. One key partner is North Wales Housing which is currently implementing Civica’s Cx Housing platform, which will provide improved integration for the two organisations to match void properties with housing needs.

Facing a growing issue of homelessness and residents in temporary accommodation, the software will help the authority and partners ensure that the people of Gwynedd are allocated the appropriate home in a timely manner. Currently operating two separate systems for housing and homelessness, the new Civica platform will unify the data across both, allowing a single view of people and available properties.

Improved reporting will enable the housing team and homelessness team to build custom reports quickly without reliance on the IT team. A new online customer portal will improve customer experience and boost digital services.

Carys Fon Williams,

Head of Housing & Property,

Cyngor Gwynedd

We have chosen this new Civica solution as it’s easy for our officers to use and will unify all our data on one simple platform. Having a more robust and automated system will ultimately provide a better service for the residents of Gwynedd, as it’s going to free up our time to focus on the vital work we do rather than back-end administration.

Jeff Hewitt,

Executive Director of Local Government,

Our cloud housing software will improve efficiencies at Gwynedd by automating critical front-line processes and reducing call volumes. We’re delighted to partner with the Council to help find people the social housing they need as quickly and easily as possible.
