Denbighshire Council expands strategic partnership with Civica
Revenues and benefits partnership extension to 2025 will maintain and improve digital services for local citizens
Denbighshire County Council has extended its strategic partnership with Civica, a global leader in software and services for the public sector.
Originally formed in 2015 as the first partnership of its kind in Wales, the contract extension to 2025 will enable the continuation of improved revenues and benefits collection rates for the organisation, which handles more than 50,000 council tax and benefits enquiries every year.
Civica will build on the revenues and benefits service it delivers on behalf of the Council as it pushes ahead with its Smart Digital agenda, also underpinned by Civica’s Digital360 platform. Alongside this service, the company also assists with sundry debts collection via its Financials cloud software.
A key part of the service includes Civica’s involvement with outside agencies and services, including the Citizens Advice Bureau, JobCentre Plus and sitting on the local Tackling Poverty Board, to ensure the needs of vulnerable citizens are met quickly and in the best way possible. The company also runs a successful apprenticeship programme within Denbighshire, with all apprentices recruited from the local area and offered full-time employment since the partnership began.
Cllr Julian Thompson-Hill, Denbighshire County Council’s lead member for Finance, Performance and Strategic Assets, said: “I am pleased the authority has extended its current contract with Civica which ensures the continued efficient delivery of this key service.
“Over the last four years the partnership has grown from strength to strength and the service being delivered to our residents and partners has been excellent. I am looking forward to seeing this great partnership continue to develop.”
Civica Executive Director Gary Bell added: “We are delighted to extend our successful partnership with Denbighshire, as the Council progresses its digital agenda. We will continue to work with multiple agencies to both effectively predict and protect the needs of all local citizens in the future.”
As an experienced technology partner for local government, Civica provides a specialist revenues and benefits service model which brings together the skills, flexibility and scalability needed to respond to the challenges faced by local authorities. It provides similar services successfully across the UK and has a track record of enabling councils to maximise growth and business opportunities through a combination of transformation experience and market-leading cloud software solutions. The company processes more than £15bn of income and expenditure for local government globally, supporting 900 councils worldwide.
