Strengthening position as key strategic supplier to UK universities and colleges

Following a rigorous tender process, Civica has been chosen as a key supplier on the latest Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) software and services framework.

With the aim of, ‘Helping universities buy smarter’, SUPC is a not-for-profit and charity created to support universities and colleges to ensure their procurement activities deliver value for money to students, staff and wider communities.

SUPC members can now access the re-tendered Software Licence Resellers Agreement (SLRA) for their student and staff software needs. Offering a cost-effective procurement option which provides access to a wide range of reputable IT and digital services suppliers, SUPC expects over £130m in university and public sector spend to be funnelled through the framework during its three-year lifespan.

SUPC Category Manager Mark Lewis said:

Covid-19 has seen a significant jump in spend in areas such as software and related services. This agreement will ensure members have a compliant and cost-effective method to meet their needs, but it’s also flexible enough to respond to evolving demands over the coming years.”

Technology Services Managing Director, Vipul Patel added:

Through SUPC, we have built on our status as a key strategic supplier to universities and colleges by investing further in our service portfolio. These services will help customers at every stage of their digital transformation journey, giving them access to the latest technology and innovation, as well as a transparent and simple procurement model.”

Via the framework, Civica provides options for cloud hosting, software and support into the education sector, which continues to be a core focus for the business. Key higher education customers include Anglia Ruskin University, Buckinghamshire New University, University of Reading and University of Manchester.

The framework is also available to members of wider education purchasing consortia such as London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC), North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC), North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC), Advanced Procurement for Universities & Colleges (APUC), Higher Education Purchasing Consortium Wales and the Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC).
