Willoughby City Council to transform library spaces with Civica’s Spydus10
Spydus10 will enhance customer experience and ensure efficient processing of workflows as a part of this transformation
- Spydus10 will offer functional support for Home Library Service and a Local Studies Collection
- Spydus10, Civica’s web-based and fully hosted integrated library management system (LMS) will manage library collection, digital assets and offer tools to transform Willoughby city council’s libraries into digital spaces
Sydney, November 21, 2017: Civica, a leading global supplier of critical software applications, digital solutions and outsourcing services that help transform the way organisations work, has announced that Willoughby City Council has chosen Spydus10 for all its libraries across the city. The city of Willoughby, which enjoys an enviable reputation as a “city with everything,” offers library services at the City Library at Chatswood, and five branch libraries at Artarmon, Castle Cove, Naremburn, Northbridge and West Chatswood and a community Library at Castlecrag.
The procurement of Spydus10 was part of the Council’s renewed focus on the role of technology in its residents’ lives. It is part of a transformation process undertaken by the Council, which also included a review of its library operations. Also, with the council withdrawing from the Shorelink library consortium in December, it needed a new integrated LMS that could focus more closely on the needs and expectations of its own ratepayers.
Spydus10 offers a best in class LMS with modules that offer seamless integration with digital content. Spydus10 modules also help manage digital assets and ensure patron discovery.
Willoughby Mayor, Gail Giles-Gidney said: “Willoughby City Library’s delivery of services has evolved in response to technological changes and community expectations, and it has become a place for the exchange of ideas and skills rather than just traditional functions such as borrowing items.”
“Civica’s Spydus 10 will enable Council to have a more tailored approach to meet the technological aspirations of the community, and help build our social, capital and digital literacy,” she added.
Simon Jones, Managing Director for Civica Library & Education Solutions added: “We are delighted to partner with Willoughby City Council to improve library service for its residents. Willoughby Council is taking steps to transform libraries as community spaces for its residents. This is a goal we share with the council that Spydus10 will help achieve.”
