Civica signs up to Cloud Industry Forum to boost innovation and transparency

Civica, a market-leading specialist in business-critical software, digital solutions and managed services, has become the latest member of the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), the industry body focused on raising standards and improving transparency in the cloud sector.

Civica’s global customer base spans public and private sectors and the company provides a wide range of business-critical software and solutions which help organisations transform the way they work. Its service portfolio includes cloud readiness assessments, cloud migration services, managed cloud solutions and cloud optimisation services, as well as digital and software solutions hosted in the cloud.

The breadth of its portfolio enables customers to take full advantage of cloud technology, while mitigating security and compliance risks, to meet citizen, customer and user/employee demand for online services in a controlled and cost effective way.

John Hood, Civica’s Chief Technology Officer commented: “We’re delighted to be joining the CIF, which works so hard to improve end-user understanding of cloud and raise standards in the industry. Civica not only works with partners in both the public and private sector to make the most of the benefits of cloud but also uses cloud systems internally. We have a shared aim to encourage more widespread and better use of cloud services and technology, and to create an ever-more secure and transparent cloud industry.”

Alex Hilton, CEO at the CIF, added: “Compliance and security concerns are prevalent barriers to cloud adoption for many organisations and Civica is an expert in mitigating these issues. The company strongly adheres to our core principles; transparency, capability and accountability and we look forward to working with them to formulate and share best practice.”

Established in 2009, CIF is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to improve standards and education in the cloud industry. It creates a platform to discuss and partner within the cloud supplier community to ensure thought leadership and market direction, as well as driving a common and public level of transparency about the capability and substance of Cloud Service Providers through a process of self-certification to an EU recognised Code of Practice.

The CIF has also built a Professional Membership programme which allows IT professionals to see best practice of cloud adoption and achieve Professional Certification via an online training process.
