Civica Announces Latest Upgrade to Spydus10
Streamlined Notice Configuration and Electronic Resource Management at the Core of Civica’s Spydus 10.1.5 Release
Civica, a world market leader in specialist software, digital solutions, and outsourcing services that help organisations transform the way they work, recently announced the release of Spydus 10.1.5. Spydus is Civica’s integrated library management system and the release of Spydus 10.1.5 reiterates the company’s commitment towards its customers.
Key features of the latest release include new web interfaces for the Spydus10 requests module, mobile library services module and home library services module. These new developments ensure that Spydus10 continues to offer greater flexibility to the library staff. Latest updates will help them to access information anytime, anywhere and on a variety of devices.
The new features are vital to Civica’s customers to ensure prompt library service delivery. For instance, the ability to manage the lifecycle of electronic resources is essential to all library operations. As a result, ERM is one of the core modules in the recent upgrade.
A new and improved ERM will manage a library’s electronic resources and databases in the one repository and will simplify lifecycle management of the library’s electronic and digital services, including the storage of contract files.
The latest updates offer increased benefits to library users and helps them to further streamline library operations. The upgrade also makes editing HTML slips and notices even easier for staff. They can use the front end configurator and customise notices and slips with minimal effort to staff.
Simon Jones, Libraries and Education Managing Director, said “We are constantly partnering with our customers on their digital journeys. We listen to them on an ongoing basis through customer focus groups and enhancement forums. We upgrade our systems based on their needs and requirements. Spydus10.1.5’s new features are based on enhancement requests submitted by the Spydus User Group and form an important part of the release.”
“Spydus10 is used by schools, higher education institutions, public, and corporate libraries worldwide and the majority of our customers have chosen our hosted solution because it minimises risk and enables libraries to focus on service delivery. Civica’s capabilities in library management are proven worldwide we have a solid roadmap that looks to the future,” he added.
Civica’s Spydus10 is Australian designed and developed leading-edge library automation system, which is extensively used by public, education, corporate and government libraries around the world. Spydus10 incorporates library management, archive management, digital asset management, personalised discovery, event management and a comprehensive business intelligence suite. Its web-based platform and mobile responsiveness help improve back end features and operational efficiencies and transform libraries into modern day digital hubs of community that offer many more services in addition to book loans to the public.
