Civica announces its latest Library event: Libraries Technology Roadshow 2018
Sydney, February 12, 2018: Civica, one of Australia’s leading suppliers of critical software applications, digital solutions and outsourcing services that help transform the way organisations work, is hosting its biennial event, Civica Libraries Technology Roadshow 2018 from the 19th to the 23rd of February, in various locations around Australia and New Zealand. This year the iconic Te Papa Museum (Wellington NZ) and The Dr. Chau Chak Wing building (Sydney, NSW) are among the host venues.
This year’s event theme will focus on “The digital library user – new frontiers for libraries and communities.” Creator and editor of Library Technology Guides, Marshall Breeding, will be one of the keynote speakers, sharing his view on libraries' transformation around the globe.
In addition, the key findings of the second edition of Civica’s Changing Landscape™ research series, “The intrinsic value of libraries as public spaces,” will be revealed during the roadshow. Developed in collaboration with the Institute for Public Policy and Governance (UTS: IPPG) at the University of Technology Sydney, the research explores trends in user behaviour and the impact of digital on the traditional role of libraries.
Civica will also showcase the latest version of Spydus10, its integrated library management system. The web-based and cloud-hosted library management system offers increased flexibility for libraries to manage their data. The latest version features a redesigned public interface, integrated event management modules, fully customisable public and employee interfaces, and increased integration with the Authority—Civica's popular enterprise solution for local government.
In line with growing worldwide data privacy concerns, the latest upgrade includes additional data security features, which offer library management greater control over access to personal and other information.
