Civica strengthens position in democracy and citizen engagement with integration of Modern.Gov
Civica, a market leader in business-critical software, digital solutions and managed services, has strengthened its position in democracy and citizen engagement with the integration and re-branding of Modern Mindset (trading as Modern.Gov), following its acquisition as part of the ERS Group in December 2018.
Modern.Gov is the UK’s leading software for meeting management and secure governance. It supports improved and efficient governance for all organisations which need to track and report actions, coordinate meetings and ensure transparency, and has driven paperless working and improved public engagement and consultation since 2000.
Sian Roberts, Civica Executive Director for Democracy and Engagement said: “Since acquisition, Modern Mindset has benefited from operating within an enlarged group with access to increased resources. The latest move will extend this, ensuring the business is best placed to respond to the evolving needs of our customers for strong and transparent governance enabled by cloud and digital technology. Strategically, it will also provide increased opportunity to build on the Group’s extensive market presence internationally.”
Modern.Gov software is used by more than 350 customers comprising local authorities, clinical commissioning groups, housing associations, fire and rescue services and higher education institutions. Key customers include Manchester City Council, City of Sydney, the National Assembly for Wales, Transport for London and NHS Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group. Since acquisition, the business has continued to win new local authority contracts including Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, Dorset Council, City of Edinburgh Council and Newcastle City Council, alongside the University of Hertfordshire.
The cloud app for paperless meetings provides up-to-date information at your fingertips and paperless working for meeting organisers and attendees. It enables organisers to quickly make last minute changes to agendas, while committee members benefit from 24/7 secure access with automatic document downloads of agendas, reports and minutes.
The solution also integrates with the Group’s market-leading electoral management software Xpress, which automatically updates candidates and election results.
