Warrington Council renews partnership with Civica to enhance electoral services

  • Cheshire-based local authority will roll out Civica’s Xpress electoral management software, ensuring faster, more efficient and compliant electoral processes

Warrington Council has moved ahead on its digital journey via a new partnership with Civica’s Xpress election management system.

The Council has returned to public sector software provider Civica in a new long-term contract to deliver a stable and innovative platform for future elections for its 162,000 electorate.

Warrington will use Xpress to plan and manage all public elections as well as maintaining its electoral register.

As the election landscape shifts with changes to parliamentary boundaries and the new Elections Act, the Council, which runs All Out elections, will now have the security of a system able to handle the scale and scope of a challenging electoral environment in coming years.

Alison McCormick,

Electoral Services Manager,

Warrington Council

The move to Xpress brings our electoral processes in line with neighbouring Councils, especially as we move to share a boundary with Cheshire East. We will now have security that our system is able to handle the complex set of elections we’ll need to deliver in future. The platform is intuitive and simple to use with increased automation and improved workflow.

Civica has worked closely with the Council over several months to develop a conversion engine and ensure a smooth transition back to the Xpress platform.

Sian Roberts,

Executive Director, Democracy and Governance,

Civica

Local authorities are under increased pressure to manage ever-more complex elections. We’re very pleased to be working further with Warrington Council to provide a trusted platform to preserve the integrity and performance of its elections processes in the future.
