Luton Council to boost resident and community engagement with Civica Involve

  • Civica Involve helps Luton Council to deliver consultation services to residents via simple easy online platform
  • Council can gather wider resident views and make better informed policy and service decisions
  • Platform allows the Council to conduct and collate insights from staff surveys

Residents across Luton are benefitting from accessible consultation services, following the adoption of a new cloud community engagement platform.

Luton Council has partnered with global leader in public sector software Civica, to implement its cloud Civica Involve software. Just several weeks since procurement and deployment, the new platform is providing the Council with a single place to manage all online consultation activity.

With no specialist technical expertise required, Civica Involve makes online consultations easy to set up and run for the Council’s team, ensuring Luton’s diverse community can have their say in local decision making.

The platform provides an interactive engagement hub where residents can help shape important decisions affecting their town. Residents are already providing their views on key proposals and projects covering budgets, planning, public spaces, parks, libraries, transport and other Council services.

Each Council service area takes control of the consultation activity relating to their respective service. Civica Involve provides Council staff with easy access to create, view, process and report on consultation activities. The Council can then easily publish outcomes and reports for residents to access – demonstrating their views were considered in vital policy and service decisions.

Sian Goding, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Inclusive Growth at Luton Council said: “Consultations are an important part of our policy-making process. As we increasingly deliver many of our services digitally, particularly since the onset of Covid-19, providing a reliable online consultation platform is crucial.”

Adopting the Civica Involve platform will enable us to continually modernise how we engage with our stakeholders and residents around key Council policies and services. By providing a single place for our consultation activity, Civica Involve will enable improvements in the quality of public consultation activity across the Council.
