Civica appoints Steve Thorn to lead Digital business

Civica, a market leader in business-critical software applications, digital solutions and managed services, has announced the appointment of Steve Thorn as Executive Director to lead its dedicated Digital business

Steve Thorn was most recently president of CGI UK, where he was responsible for the company’s UK operations, encompassing a wide range of IT and digital services for clients in the public and private sectors.

His appointment comes as Civica continues to sustain a strong growth performance driven by the company’s distinctive combination of business-critical software and digital services capability. The company has an established record of providing digital solutions as a trusted partner for more than 500 organisations across central and local government, health care, financial services and transport. With a leading end-to-end capability from strategy consulting and data analytics to secure digital applications and cloud services, delivered by a dedicated team of more than 700 specialists, Civica is helping customers to transform services and improve lives.

Steve Thorn will spearhead expansion of the Group’s proven activity to design, build and manage a new generation of high-value digital services which enable customers to accelerate their digital transformation. He brings significant breadth and depth of experience in business leadership, IT delivery, business transformation and operational roles. Steve spent more than 25 years at CGI, most recently leading the public sector, UK application services and UK outsourcing businesses. Prior to joining Logica (which was acquired by CGI in 2012), Steve held roles at IBM and in the Royal Navy.
