Safety first: Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service picks Civica TranSend Fleet Management platform to increase compliance and deliver more efficient services

  • Civica’s smart TranSend software will bring fleet maintenance, testing and compliance into one digital platform for the first time
  • Cloud platform will help ensure emergency vehicles and equipment are in the right place at the right time, enhancing community safety
  • Better data insight and automation will reduce error and allow staff to focus more on business improvement

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has invested in new smart cloud technology from Civica to bring all maintenance and tracking of fleet and fire-fighting assets into one single platform.

The UK’s third largest fire service, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has approximately 330 vehicles and around 12,000 equipment assets to manage across six Welsh counties, covering two-thirds of Wales. Facing the major challenge of asset and inventory management across two separate systems, the Service was looking for a new digital solution to bring all assets into a single database.

Via the new partnership, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service will implement Civica’s TranSend software to bring all fleet maintenance and asset tracking into one integrated platform. This will reduce the risk of data duplication and error and save time for employees to focus more on delivering a better, more robust service for local communities.

The Fire and Rescue Service will benefit from much improved access to all data in the cloud, available on laptop and mobile devices – crucial to meet the needs of firefighters across stations. The new software will also help manage suppliers more efficiently via a new Supplier Portal, removing both risk and supporting the paperless agenda.

A single view of all assets in one central database will support improved financial planning across the Service, offering better visibility of whole life costs.

Mid and West Wales Fire

The fire and rescue service is unique in having so many smaller, risk-critical assets which require varying degrees of tracking and maintenance, especially after large-scale incidents.

Working with Civica as a trusted partner, this platform will meet all of our fleet and asset needs. TranSend will mean we have the right appliances and equipment in the right place at the right time, ensuring a better, safer service for the communities we serve right across mid and west Wales.

Civica TranSend will provide one digital footprint for fleet and asset maintenance across the entire Fire and Rescue Service. This cloud solution will increase compliance and help prioritise resources better. Smarter, quicker data analysis and automation will ultimately enable Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service to focus on the key priority of offering critical services which save lives in the community.
