Latest acquisition brings tree asset management and compliance software to government and education customers
Civica, a global leader in software for public services has acquired ArborSafe Australia Pty Ltd., provider of market leading, tree asset management software solutions.
Based in Melbourne, ArborSafe has a diverse and long-standing client base across the country. Clients include local, state and federal Government departments, educational institutions of all levels and corporate facilities. It’s software helps facility operators to better manage risk and meet increasing compliance requirements and also maintain healthy, long-lasting tree populations as both environmental and amenity assets. With over a million trees assessed in Australia, ArborSafe’s tree consultancy and management solutions ArborPlan and ArborSite were developed and refined over 15 years through experienced technologists, arborists and industry specialists.
Excitingly, the company is about to release a new product – C My Trees, on the App Store and Google Play which is unique in its ability to let members of the public calculate the carbon stored in their trees and create their own carbon sequestration targets based on the energy they consume. This app also allows ArborSafe’s customers to calculate their carbon sequestration, set facility targets, and publicise their green credentials to both customers and the public.
ArborSafe’s software is a leader in its class – differentiated from other alternatives, many of which were built as tree management databases or modular tree add-ons rather than developed as a bespoke tree management system designed from the ground up.

The acquisition complements Civica’s broad suite of asset management and compliance solutions and will strengthen the Group’s existing sector capabilities, increasing the scope of Civica’s activity in the education sector by close to 300 education institutions. This includes public, private and catholic schools, TAFEs, Universities, kindergartens and early learning centres, currently using ArborSafe’s services.
