Patient-centric digital meal ordering
Visitors can see a demonstration of Saffron Bedside, a tablet solution for meal ordering that links to the patient management system. It reduces food waste and improves patient experience, ensuring safer ordering, with the choices available automatically mapped to patients’ care plans and dietary needs.
It’s part of the Saffron end-to-end cloud solution that manages purchasing, stock control, menu engineering, supplier management, recipes and kitchen compliance, including food safety, allergen management and cleaning schedules in one system.
Improve sustainability and cut food waste
We’ll also be demonstrating other ways the platform can help hospitals deliver quality and sustainable catering operations, including:
- How users can easily view and report on the weight, value and ingredients of menu items, as well as carbon footprint levels to support food waste reduction.
- The Wellbeing Portal to let staff know what is available in advance, with nutritional and allergen information.
- The CivicaEats mobile pre-order app, enabling staff to order meals in advance and minimise food waste.
- Saffron Purchasing, which automates and simplifies the paperless buying process, with EDI integration for larger suppliers and buying groups, as well supporting government initiatives for procurement through local suppliers.
