West College Scotland sets out to transform student journey with Cloud technology

3rd February 2024

West College Scotland, one of Scotland’s largest educational institutions, is rolling out cloud-based digital technology to transform how it supports its students.

Like many other large educational institutions, West College Scotland faces the complex challenge of managing and supporting the learning journeys of:

  • Over 21,000 students
  • On 400 courses
  • Across three campuses - Clydebank, Greenock and Paisley

Civica College Management, designed specifically for the unique needs of further education institutions, will provide West College Scotland with a single digital platform to support students on their entire educational journeys, from enrollment to the day they graduate to pursue their chosen career.

The Cloud-based technology, driving efficient processes, will enable West College to have all student and course data centralised in one platform and accessible in real-time. This will make it easier to monitor students' individual learning progress, and - crucially - identify those who need extra support. The platform also benefits students, who can keep up to date with their learning journey with the College.

Civica, a UK-based global GovTech provider, was recently awarded top ranked supplier on the APUC Student Management System Framework, (FE Colleges Lot), the national procurement platform which serves all of Scotland's universities and colleges. This means that Scotland's thriving Further Education sector will be able to easily procure and benefit from Civica College Management’s established ease of use, security and breadth of support for education leaders, managers, teachers and students.

From monitoring academic progress to planning courses and exams, Cloud-based digital technologies like Civica College Management are playing a crucial role in improving the educational experiences of millions of learners.
A single Cloud-based digital solution will empower West College Scotland to have a much clearer and more accurate view of the unique needs of every student, enabling them to deliver the best educational experience and in turn getting them off to the best possible start in their chosen career.
