Royal College of Radiologists drive learning and CPD with Civica

11th March 2020

The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) is set to enhance the professional knowledge, skills and services provided to its members and staff with Civica Learning.

The new platform will provide members with enhanced learning and CPD experiences

The feature rich portal and Apps will empower members’ CPD, enabling activities, evidence and reflections to be recorded at work, at home or on the move

The platform will support the use of DICOM images, which are widely used in clinical oncology and clinical radiology

The RCR sets the standards, shares the knowledge and supports the skills for positive outcomes in clinical radiology and clinical oncology, for life.

Heather Wanstall, Head of Professional Learning and Development at the RCR said, “Learning and professional development is crucial for all our members, whether they are new to clinical oncology or clinical radiology or are experienced professionals. The new platform will provide our members with a leading service to help them improve their knowledge, while keeping them up to date with the latest academic and best practice guidelines.”

Heather Wanstall,

Head of Professional Learning and Development at the RCR

To enhance the service we provide to members, we have partnered with Civica to deliver a truly modern and easy-to-use learning and CPD platform.

The RCR will use Civica Learning (formerly Agylia) and mobile learning Apps to deliver a range of learning content, including eLearning courses, videos and academic guides to its members.

A key feature of Civica Learning is to support DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine). DICOM is the international standard for medical images used in radiology, cardiology and radiotherapy devices. The ability for the platform to support DICOM will provide a key learning resource for RCR members.

The CPD platform will enable members to take ownership of their CPD record through the recording and tracking of CPD progress and the ability to add activities, evidence and reflections either through the desktop portal or mobile App. This ensures members can commit time to their learning and CPD activities, whether they are at work, at home or travelling.
