Kent County Council goes live with Civica’s cloud software for trading standards
Latest software supports new digital trading standards directory for citizens, enabling officers to spend more time supporting communities
Civica, a global leader in software for public services, has delivered its latest Cx Regulatory Services cloud software for Kent County Council, the local authority serving the largest population in England.
Cx provides a market leading digital platform for regulatory services. The software supports Kent’s wider transformation programme by digitising its Trading Standards Checked Scheme. A checked trader directory for businesses home maintenance sector, the new scheme provides consumers with peace of mind when choosing a trader to carry out work in their home.
A long-standing Civica customer, KCC is using Cx to automate and simplify data management. The software integrates with the Council’s website, allowing traders to apply for scheme membership while providing consumers reassurance that they are choosing reliable and trusted businesses to carry out work in their home. All data is automatically updated in Cx, driving paperless working and significantly reducing manual administration to increase time and efficiency savings.
Angie Sanders, Group Service Development Officer (Systems & Data), Kent County Council said: “We invested in Civica Cx to deliver the back-office management for our new Trading Standards Checked Scheme. The time we now save on administrative tasks means our Officers are able to be more proactive when dealing with complaints, focus on high profile issues to provide more resilient communities and improved services. Throughout the project Civica worked in partnership with us and our web supplier to understand our specific requirements and goals, and develop a solution that was delivered both on time and to our requirements.”
Emily Douglin, Managing Director, Civica Regulatory Services said: “We have developed a strong relationship with Kent County Council and understand how vital the trader scheme is for its digital strategy, for both employees and citizens. We have streamlined processes to deliver a cloud solution which integrates with current platforms; allowing the Council more time to spend delivering valuable services to citizens.”
Civica provides regulatory services software for more than 200 public sector organisations across the UK. This continues strong momentum for Civica with its Cx digital platform, with other recent contract awards with Devon County Council, Peterborough City Council, Rugby Borough Council, Durham County Council and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council.
