Job Title: UX Designer (Junior and Mid-level roles) 

Location: Home Based + occasional travel to UK customer sites

Due to continued success, we are expanding, again! 

We are looking for a UX designer to join our diverse multidisciplinary team to help create services for high profile customer programmes, including engagements with local and central government as well as private sector organisations.

We are currently recruiting for both Junior and Mid-level UX Designers, these roles are home based, but will potentially require travel to customer sites.  There is also the flexibility to work within one of hubs in London (Southbank), Bristol (Spectrum Building) or Manchester (Altrincham) as we understand being at home can sometimes get boring.

Reporting into a Lead UX Designer, the Junior and Mid-level UX Designers responsibilities include: 

  • Planning user research to help inform and prioritise requirements.
  • Carrying out research activities and presenting the findings to our customers.
  • Facilitating workshops and utilising post-its!
  • Describing users’ goals and tasks and their current pain-points.  
  • Identifying and defining user experience and accessibility requirements. 
  • Creating interactive prototypes utilising wireframing tool(s) (e.g. Axure) or even code. 
  • Testing the usability and accessibility of components and alternative designs. 
  • Utilising an evidence-based user-centric approach to design decisions. 

About You:

  • 1+ years commercial experience in Software Industry, you don’t have to have been doing “pure UX” and this maybe the chance you have been waiting for to make that leap into the realm of Customer Experience.
  • Knowledge of industry design standards and best practices.
  • Self-starter, proactive approach, drive and energy.
  • Effective relationship and stakeholder management.
  • Creative and innovative in the way you work.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Awareness of Web Contact Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Understanding of user research methods and applicable techniques.
  • Awareness of agile methodology and lean UX.
  • Awareness of journey maps, UX maps and service blueprinting.
  • Understanding of prototyping methodologies and techniques from lo-fi to hi-fi.
  • Awareness of prototyping in code using HTML and CSS – beneficial to understand .ninja {visibility:hidden;}, don’t worry we won’t be asking you code the next Facebook.
  • Knowledge of development technologies.
