Location: Home based with occasional travel as and when may be required

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager who will take full operational responsibility for the Modern.Gov Business Unit Operations, including service delivery, Customer Support and associated P&L achievement.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of people management within a software house or similar SaaS organisations and delivering software to the public sector, being market connected and delivering business value
  • Proven operational management experience, implementing software and/or infrastructure implementations 
  • Proven record of developing client and internal customer/partner relationships
  • Ability to manage expectations and control change in an IT projects environment.  
  • Excellent Planning capabilities, both strategic and reactionary.
  • Ability to motivate and communicate team members and key stakeholders both internally and externally 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to empathise with staff, partners and their clients shaping communication style as appropriate.
  • Commercial judgement and acumen.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Technical Director, Managing Director and others to review priorities and timescales for product delivery and customer needs
  • Put plans in place to deliver the necessary analysis for approved projects
  • Creation, management and review of requirements, design, estimates and other materials
  • Influencing product strategy by monitoring market needs, considering technological advances, competitor products and the changing requirements of customers
  • Review and management of incoming enhancement requests and production defect fixes, and help prioritise developments for release
