Can you assist us with ROI information we can use in our internal business case?

Savings come from being able to decommission on premise data centres & freeing up building space. Also no longer requiring Citrix or RDP licenses to access the existing on premise solution, plus the hosting side of the solution, frees up systems teams from applying releases/patches and carrying out data refreshes.

What is the typical end-to-end project timeline?

Usually 4-6 months.

How many FTEs will I need to make available for testing?

This will generally depend on the number of modules purchased and to what extent automation is being used to support the function.

What support do we get in terms of change management and project management?

Full time project management with access to specialist consultants will be provided over the course of delivery. Civica is governed by a robust project management policy, which includes change management. Full details will be provided at the project kickoff meeting.

What is different about the cloud system and what additional functionality do we get for it?

Cloud clients get the updated web-based user interface which provides more information at the top level and less clicks to access other data. The interface is more user friendly, intuitive, and more accessible for system users who have colour vision or visual impairments. It is a fully managed cloud service hosted in Azure with all the associated security benefits this brings.

All the on-premise functionality has been included in the cloud upgrade though certain lesser used screens such as job and report submission screens and parameters are deployed to the desktop via RDS in the current Windows format.

What do we get as a service offering by upgrading to the cloud?

The cloud offering reduces risks associated with business continuity due to the robust nature of the Azure network. Furthermore, it negates the requirement to upgrade and maintain servers on premise. Note also that customer service offerings can be tailored to customer needs.

Can we keep all of our existing environments?

Train, Test & Production will remain available to upgraded customers.

Are the Azure data centres in the UK?

Yes, both the main data centre and the fail over data centre are UK based.
