  • Mobile app allows residents to access library services from anywhere

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – 17th August, 2021: Booklovers of Campbelltown can soon look forward to an even-better reading experience, with their local library adopting cutting-edge smart software to digitally enhance and elevate its library technology.

Campbelltown City Council Libraries, which caters for more than 170,000 residents, will be using the integrated library management tool Spydus, provided by global smart software provider Civica. Through Spydus, Campbelltown’s local community will be able to access all library services online, including services such as Campbelltown’s comprehensive local history archive. This self-service option gives borrowers the freedom to browse at their own convenience and provides librarians with more time to spend helping those who prefer face-to-face assistance.

As the population of Campbelltown grows and expectations of what a library service should offer changes, the council has opted for a forward-thinking library management system (LMS) that provides all four local libraries with the most up-to-date technology and functionality.

This new library management system will make browsing our rich collection a smoother and even more customer-friendly experience”

Campbelltown City Council Mayor George Brticevic said.

We’re delighted to partner with Spydus to deliver this new system which meets the needs of our community and reflects feedback received from our library users"

Cr Brticevic said.

We’re delighted to welcome Campbelltown Library to our ever-growing Spydus family. As they become part of our active user group – SPUN, they can take advantage of Civica’s proactive collaboration, including incorporating regular feedback from our library community. This enables us to continue to update our offerings and work with our Spydus libraries to continue enhancing the services they can provide to their citizens.”
